International vocational education and training

At different levels ibw makes a substantial contribution to European projects related to research on education and training. We regularly take part in EU projects as a partner or coordinator. In addition, we contribute our expertise to working groups of the European Commission for designing European education projects.

As a cooperation partner of the EU’s Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) we describe the VET system and educational policies implemented in Austria and, in this way, facilitate the transnational comparison.

    Ausbildungs- und Arbeitsmarkterfolg von LehrabgängerInnen: LehrabsolventInnenmonitoring 2011-2020

    Die Ergebnisse eines im Auftrag der WKÖ durchgeführten Monitorings aller 383.336 LehrabgängerInnen der Jahre 2011-2020 in Österreich zeigen bemerkenswerte Einflussfaktoren auf Ausbildungs- und Arbeitsmarkterfolg. In einem besonders starken Zusammenhang zur Häufigkeit eines Lehrabbruchs stehen etwa das Alter zu Lehrzeitbeginn und die Vorbildung. Der Arbeitsmarkterfolg 3 Jahre nach Lehrabschluss steht wiederum in direktem Zusammenhang zum Ausbildungserfolg. LehrabsolventInnen sind wesentlich seltener arbeitslos als Personen, welche die Lehre abgebrochen haben.
