International vocational education and training

At different levels ibw makes a substantial contribution to European projects related to research on education and training. We regularly take part in EU projects as a partner or coordinator. In addition, we contribute our expertise to working groups of the European Commission for designing European education projects.

As a cooperation partner of the EU’s Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) we describe the VET system and educational policies implemented in Austria and, in this way, facilitate the transnational comparison.

    Die vorliegende Studie, die sich in einen quantitativen (Befragung von 305 österreichischen Lehrbetrieben) und einen qualitativen Teil (ExpertInneninterviews mit VertreterInnen aus Betrieben, Berufsschulen und Trägerorganisationen von JASG-Maßnahmen) gliedert, zeigt: Die insgesamt wichtigsten Eingangsqualifikationen von Lehrstellensuchenden sind das persönliche Interesse am zu erlernenden Beruf sowie Pünktlichkeit und Zuverlässigkeit. Jeweils 90% der befragten Betriebe finden diese Kriterien sehr wichtig und 10% eher wichtig. Von besonderer Relevanz sind weiters die Bereiche „Lern- und Leistungsbereitschaft, Arbeitsmotivation“ (85% sehr wichtig), „Genauigkeit, Sorgfalt“ (80% sehr wichtig) sowie „Gute Umgangsformen (Höflichkeit, Freundlichkeit, etc.)“ (73% sehr wichtig).
